The first class will serve as an introduction and a way to establish contact with the students, laying a solid foundation for the course. We will begin by presenting the course objectives, Next, we will discuss the work method for the course. It will include a mix of theoretical presentations, interactive discussions, and practical case analyses. The tutorials will involve exercises and real-world case studies to help students apply the concepts learned.
We will also take time to discuss ideas of the first unit about Islamic finance and its implications in the modern world. The goal is to understand students' perspectives and tailor future discussions to topics of interest.
Then, we will introduce the concept of "Sharika" (Musharaka), one of the key pillars of Islamic finance. This type of contract is based on profit and loss sharing and will be compared to the structure of modern corporations. We will explore how Musharaka principles can be integrated into contemporary businesses, focusing on shared risk management and collaboration.
This first class will provide a general introduction and an initial glimpse into the key concepts of the subject.
